Headbanger (975), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 2, 2008 12oz botle-A light orangish body with a small tight white head and an aroma of butterscotch, malt, caramel, and no hops. Taste of malt, butterscotch, and finishes dry. This also has a funky taste that can’t be described. Not much of and IPA. This is not a salvation for hop heads more like a liquid version of a candy butterscotch.
bhensonb (2882), Woodland, California, USA Aug 23, 2008 Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours bright gold with a 7-finger head. Aroma is somewhat yeasty malt over resin and fruity hops. Medium plus body with very smooth, soft carbonation. Flavor is pine and citrus. The malt is rather subdued. A whole heck of non-harsh hop. Nice bitter finish. It’s like not all that bitter, but it’s all that bitter. kmeves (986), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Aug 8, 2008 Pours a clear light amber with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is lightly sweet malt with some grassy hops. Flavor is more hoppy with pine and citrus and a light malt backbone. Medium bodied, slick texture. Finishes surprisingly long and bitter. joshwilfong (518), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 29, 2008 golden with huge head. flavor low on the malt which makes it very unbalanced, not to mention the lack of quality hop bitterness or flavor. weak effort phishpond417 (1418), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 28, 2008 I agree this beer was anything but an IPA, more like a weak APA. pours a hazey cloudy orange colour. Head was nice sized, white and semi citrusy. but for the most part the flavor was weak on hops and fruit. Not a whole lot of floral character in this one. alexsdad06 (620), Ohio, USA Jul 28, 2008 Bottled. Pours slightly hazy golden color with a large off white head that goes forever. The aroma has a hint of spice and some citrus with pale malt. I generally like a bit more hops with my IPAs. The flavor is more grassy pale malt with light citrus and spice. Like others have said, this does not resemble an IPA as much as it does a pale. Not going to revisit this one.
