2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SurnameLevi (5) - Michigan, USA - JAN 24, 2012 does not count
Poured black with a thin off-white head that disappeared almost instantly. I liked the smell, kinda like vanilla ice cream. Tasted like weak coffee with milk. There was a flat sour metallic taste I did not like at all. This was my 2nd attempt at this beer and is the same as it was first time around.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Oscbert (746) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 12, 2012
~Vanilla aroma with milk chocolate and caramel, very light earthy/spicy hops.
~Pours black with small slightly creamy brown head that disappears.
~Vanilla again in flavor with chocolate caramel milk like flavor and coffee bean.
~Med full bodied, med low CO2, creamy, smooth chocolate finish.
~Great brew. The vanilla really stands out and sets this one apart. A bit sweet and creamy for me to have more than one at a time

bottle... dark brown, a bit watery, light tan head... the aroma is decent, smells like a light vanilla coffee a bit generic but could be a lot worse... the taste is surprisingly decent as well, a bit cloying and generic, not going to knock your socks off, but its decent and much better than the score its given

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a dark brown with an off white head, the aroma is mostly of coffee with a hint of vanilla, the frond end actually has some weird sour notes with a finish of chocolate and a touch of coffee, the mouthfeel was very thin overall, did not enjoy this one.

12oz bottle from Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a very deep brown, mostly black colored body with a finger-width, creamy, light brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is pretty solid with lots of rich, milky chocolates and a sweet vanilla cream. A light coffee-roast behind the malts and vanilla. Flavor is similar. A bit thin, but not bad. Milky chocolates and vanilla up front with some cream before a light roasty coffee comes out at the end and dries this. Lengthy aftertaste following a thinner body and a light-moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty simple and straightforward beer, but its tasty enough and well balanced. Not bad.
