Pours deep brown into a snifter. Off-white head recedes to hug rim. Sour coffee aromas. Crisp sour vanilla and coffee from front to back. Nasty. Drain pour.

Bottle. Aroma is stale, a bit vegetative. Appears dark brown with a bubbly off-white head. Horrible flavor of red peppers in a porter. No sweet or roasty character at all. Light palate. Disgusting. I hope this was a bad bottle.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting at Dogbricks on 12/4/08. Pours an opaque medium brown with a thin head. Dank aroma that is malty and a bit tart. Flavor is equally tart with some pepper and a mild roast finish. Not sure what they were going for here, but it gets a WTF from me.

Tap at Goodbar beer club. Nose is a big vanilla and chocolate hit, some burnt malt, rum ball, cocoa krispie. Flavor is large vanilla and chocolate hit - like a slightly milkier Rogue Chocolate Stout.

Pours a pretty light brown for a porter, with a small tan head that fades rather quickly. The nose is very odd, resembling a bean burrito, or refried beans. The roastiness in this beer comes across as a chipotle smokiness. The flavour is slight improvement, but only if you really like Mexican food. I will stop here as I pour this filth down the drain.

Pours a pitch black with a medium sized light brown head. Aroma dominated by cocoa and powdered chocolate. Taste of cocoa powder, chocolate and vanilla roasted beans.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: The beer is nearly opaque black with a thin beige head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Minimal aroma of vanilla and jalapeno. Thin body with a flavor not unlike a few chili peppers, coffee grounds and vanilla extract blended in a garbage disposal. The finish is weak cardboard and coffee. What happened here.
