| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Pours deep brown into a snifter. Off-white head recedes to hug rim. Sour coffee aromas. Crisp sour vanilla and coffee from front to back. Nasty. Drain pour. kseecs16 (919), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is stale, a bit vegetative. Appears dark brown with a bubbly off-white head. Horrible flavor of red peppers in a porter. No sweet or roasty character at all. Light palate. Disgusting. I hope this was a bad bottle. JaBier (1294), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting at Dogbricks on 12/4/08. Pours an opaque medium brown with a thin head. Dank aroma that is malty and a bit tart. Flavor is equally tart with some pepper and a mild roast finish. Not sure what they were going for here, but it gets a WTF from me. rudolf (1789), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 21, 2008 Tap at Goodbar beer club. Nose is a big vanilla and chocolate hit, some burnt malt, rum ball, cocoa krispie. Flavor is large vanilla and chocolate hit - like a slightly milkier Rogue Chocolate Stout. | 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Pours a pretty light brown for a porter, with a small tan head that fades rather quickly. The nose is very odd, resembling a bean burrito, or refried beans. The roastiness in this beer comes across as a chipotle smokiness. The flavour is slight improvement, but only if you really like Mexican food. I will stop here as I pour this filth down the drain. adrian910ss (1445), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a medium sized light brown head. Aroma dominated by cocoa and powdered chocolate. Taste of cocoa powder, chocolate and vanilla roasted beans. Dogbrick (2924), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: The beer is nearly opaque black with a thin beige head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Minimal aroma of vanilla and jalapeno. Thin body with a flavor not unlike a few chili peppers, coffee grounds and vanilla extract blended in a garbage disposal. The finish is weak cardboard and coffee. What happened here. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
