It’s a chocolate malt where you can definitely smell the coffee and vanilla. It’s a dark and heavy beer that starts to taste bitter after a while. First half of bottle better than second.

Very average. Easy drinking, but will leave you wanting a little more body and balance here. Tastes almost watered down.

LOVE this beer. Great aroma of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. It is a bit heavy on the tongue but the taste is incredible. Very smooth, definitely best to be used as a dessert beer rather than with a meal.

Bottle into a tulip glass. Pour is a very dark black. Aroma is a coffee with a chocolate chip cookie. Taste is a after dinner coffee and sweet malt. Finish is clean.

Itís a chocolate malt where you can definitely smell the coffee and vanilla. The only downside with this amazing beer is that I can only have a couple of sips before it gets to be too much for me. Itís a dark and heavy beer that starts to taste bitter after a while.

frothy, white foam, fair lacing, muddy/cloudy, dark black appearance. chocolate, coffee, toasty malt notes. Musty yeast aromas. medium sweetness and lightly bitter. full body, thick feel, creamy, flat, long finish. My favorite porter so far in my drinking career (not very long). Love that it is made in Detroit and I think it trumps the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter (donít worry Breck you have better skiing).

Itís easy to go overboard on brews like this but the coffee and, in particular, the vanilla were applied with a fairly light hand, though theyíre both definitely present.

(Midwest tour backlog recollected in abstinence) Tap @Jack of the Wood pub, Asheville 1909/2012. Tastes like what the label says: cold, vanilla-infused medium-roast coffee. More like Mr. Brown out of a can: alluringly kitschy on the nose and the first sips, falls flat on its singular extract nose after a few gulps as a beer. Lack of complexity or a yeast profile, for that matter. Easy-fix novelty beer that does not accomodate several revisits.

Dark Brown/black with beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate. Light bitter, milk chocolate, slight coffee, hints of vanilla. Very smooth, I donít drink coffee and love this beer
