2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 thechandler (526) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Pours a dark cola brown. Aroma is sweet, coffee and hints of vanilla. Flavor is far more watery than I expected. Flavor thats there is fine. A bit bitter, a bit of coffee. No noticeable vanilla flavor. Very watery though.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 boxofrane (1184) - pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Bottle from Wegmans. Pours black with some light coming through around the curves of the glass, half finger of tan head (good retention). The aroma has a nice coffee note and a very imitation vanilla scent.. not good or bad.. just okay. The taste is overly sweet fake vanilla and extremely cloying despite the thin body. No thank you.
3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 kirk36 (69) - Peabody, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 16, 2013
After dinner beer. Met my expectations for style and label. Vanilla. Coffee. Porter. It's all there. No magic. Met expectations. Good overall. Could be better, but doesn't have to be.

An incredibly good beer that goes down very smooth. It is really good on a nitro tap, or near frozen as that really brings out an even smoother taste.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bbbeer (411) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 6, 2013
Dark muddy brown, bubbly, tiny tan head. Aroma inoffensive but not much too it, some caramel and vanilla. Light body, carbonated. Flavors vanilla, sweet coffee and chocolate. Comes across more like Dr. Pepper than anything else. Not great.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Backlog rating 12-05-2008. This bottled Porter pours a small tan fizzy head with a poor retention span, opaque body, very little carbonation observed, small amount of lacing, and a brown hue. The aroma consist of coffee beans, chocolate, malt and vanilla. The flavor tastes of coffee beans, hints of hops and chocolate malt. The palate is smooth and light bodied. All-in-all, this beer given its style, did not meet my expectations due to the thin, watery texture. For this reason, I did not give it a higher overall rating.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hophaze (77) - South Bend, Indiana, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle. Aroma of chocolate and malts but not strong at all. Pours black with no head to speak of. Love the pronounced vanilla taste. A bit thin for a porter but still good.
----Hophaze out
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 NikkTwist (892) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Draft at Khyber Pass. Very dark ruby pour with a foamy off-white head. No lace. Nice dark Porter flavors but body reads way too thin. Black coffee with a lot of vanilla beans. Sarsparella. Hazel nuts. Enough bitter to match the sweet. Juicy burnt vanilla caramels. Very smooth finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Drake (6503) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - JAN 8, 2013
12 ounce bottle from my friend Eric, and nothernbrews also sent me one. Thanks guys! Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big cocoa notes, mild coffee, vanilla and roast. The taste is tootsie rolls, cocoa, vanilla, toasted notes, herbal hops, coffee. Thin bodied. Decent.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 hondajunkie (46) - Tinley Park, Illinois, USA - DEC 31, 2012
Pours black with a small khaki head that dissipates quickly.
Coffee aromas followed by some vanilla undertones, not a very strong smelling beer though, had to really get my nose into the glass to find it.
Med. to high carb. a little more than what I’m used to in a porter, but quite smooth. Some caramel at first followed by the dark coffee taste that lingers thru the palate, lemon grass picked up in the middle with a hint of good vanilla flavor at the end. Not bad, just not my cup o’tea. If you like coffee porters/stouts this would be a good choice.
