I got mainly caramel and vanilla aromas upfront with more coffee in the aftertaste. Good flavor though a bit watery and flat on the palate. Very sweet with hardly any bitterness, which makes it a bit one dimensional. Make it a dessert.

12oz bottle pours dark brown black with light edges and a small finger of light tan head. Nose is strong artificial vanilla, sweet syrup, french vanilla coffee, light roast. Taste is similar with overpowering vanilla, light caramel coffee, high sweetness. Finishes sweet, round vanilla, light cocoa. Thin. Too much.

2015-06-26. Black body with a moderate creamy tan head. Aroma is strongly vanilla, sweetish, muted mocha undertones. Flavour has sweet vanilla character up front, bitter coffee notes follow. Smooth average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Okay, the vanilla character is nice but the coffee is a bit jarring. On tap at Craft, Toronto.

12 oz single bottle from Mollyís Spirits. Black appearance with a small, lingering brown head. Aroma of coffee beans, vanilla, light roast, cocoa, light caramel malt and bitter chocolate. Similar flavor. Light body. Good.

Bottle. A dark brown beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has lots of vanilla, some mocha, dark chocolate and a roasted touch. Itís full-bodied, smooth and semi-dry on the palate, even though thereís some vanilla and sugar sweetness. Roasted malts, chocolate, dark coffee and too much artificial feeling vanilla in the flavor. Oaked hints. Lasting roasted and vanilla-ish finish with dark chocolate and coffee. Too artificial vanilla going on here, else itís quite nice. 150610

Bottle 355ml @ Hotel Room, Best Western Plus, Waterbury, VT
Pours dark reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes or roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and too much vanilla. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long vanilla, chocolate and coffee finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

This beer really showcases the use of vanilla in a porter. Lighter on the coffee which I think may have balanced it out. Ok. Not great.

Dark brown, no foam present. Vanilla aroma and coffee/vanilla taste, as promised by the label. (Dallas 201505)

APPEARANCE - very dark brown with thick foamy beige head. NOSE - Iím a bit shocked that this has hardly any scents coming from it at first, especially not vanilla or java. The coffee side does come through as it hits room temperature. F LAVOR - pretty good lighter porter flavor. The java nor the vanilla come through strongly. As the sip finishes I get some hints of vanilla flavor

Very floral scents, almost lavender. Java notes not as strong as I hoped, neither was the vanilla. Very soft flavors overall though, not that bitter
