b33r (332), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 3, 2007 Updated: Jun 14, 2007 Black in color. Wow big head, supported itself probably an inch above the rim when poured. Slowly diminished and left a slight lacing. Aroma is bold, a little fruity and malty. Also was the flavor, bursting with sweet chocolate and vanilla. A little sweet. Coffee flavor is evident, but not too much, which is good. This beer literally got better with every sip I took. Well balanced for an interesting overall taste. This is a totally unique flavor to me, and I really enjoyed it. I don’t understand how this is rated only 3.1
darn1207 (227), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2008 12oz bottle. deep brown pour with a thick soapy head that doesn’t hang around. aroma of coffee and vanilla. thin palate. bitter sweet vanilla taste with a tiny hint of roasted malt. dry finish. eh. bretupdegraff (32), , Indiana, USA Aug 12, 2008 not a great beer.taste seemed bland with a taste of vanilla. The vanilla/chocolate flavor was strong but it lacked any other ’real’ flavor. Still better than Miller Lite! JK (2392), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Aug 9, 2008 Terrible. I like the idea and some of these vanilla beers, like Breckenridge, are good. This one is black and has a strange aroma of chili peppers. Some roasted malt. jackzodiac (12), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 31, 2008 When I poured it, it took on a very quick, thick, but not foamy (more bubbly) head. It had a decent aroma with obvious coffee notes. Its tasted awful. Very bitter, not dark at all, almost nothing like a porter- and barely a hint of vanilla or coffee, let alone a nice, dark, roasted malt in the flavor. A disappointing purchase. tool2scream (11), USA Jul 28, 2008 nothing to this beer. Decent look and smell. Flavor was not so good at all. Nothing to it. Very unique flavor, but not a good one in my book. HUGE disappointment.
