On tap at GABF 2011. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is massive vanilla, some roast and coffee. The flavor is a rich massive vanilla, some sweet chocolates and burnt metallic coffee. Something like a cola.

Not a bad beer. Good vanilla taste upfront but I feel it falls flat towards the end.

Not a bad attempt, but way too thin for style. There are some decent flavors, but they are not vibrant and a bit artificial. Most likely better on draft.

I suggested that we get this for a group gathering, but I was sorely disappointed. The biggest problem--me and others with less beer experience agreed--is that the vanilla just overwhelms other flavors. There’s some coffee in there, but not enough, and the porter sensibility is even further buried except for the color. There was a moment in the finish that seemed almost watery to me; very thin, even as a porter.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2013 Smells of vanilla, as the name implies. Pours a dark brown (not one of the darker porters) with a tan head that quickly dissipates. Tastes slightly of chocolate, before being overwhelmed by vanilla. The aftertaste is of coffee. The mouth feel at the end doesn?t quite feel right. I do enjoy the taste as it warms. Overall a decent budget porter.

12oz bottle, from Country Fresh for $1.69. Bottled March 2013. Black color. Thin tan head. Decent bits of lace. Nice big vanilla nose, though a little artificial tasting. Light java coffee. Medium body. Carbonation is on the lighter side, but not the smoothest texture. Lightly dry in the finish. Pretty sweet taste. Light bitter bite, and not in a nice roasty coffee way. No roastiness at all, just light artificial coffee and vanilla. Not really nuanced or well blended, and a bit too sweet. Not easy to finish, but I got through it, eventually

12oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a medium khaki head. Only vanilla extract in aroma. Taste basically of just vanilla with a slight coffee bitterness as the palate fades. Very underwhelmed.

Pours dark. Smells of vanilla. Taste a slightly weak, mostly vanilla. Palate is rather light. Not a great beer but a good sessionable beer.

The taste is a bit artificial, too much vanilla overwhelms the porter. Kind of harsh bite to it too.

12 oz bottle pour deep brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and vanilla. Taste is sweet vanilla and coffee. Too much vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells like vanilla extract. Tastes like vanilla extract. No coffee flavor in this beer what so ever. Very one note. Note good.
