2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This tasted thin and watery. Picked up vanilla, but no strong coffee, chocolate, malt, hop, etc. None of the boldness or complexity typical of the style.

0.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
One of the few beers I have poured out. Not true to style. Aroma had slight hints of chocolate. Caramel malt taste but color is off. Hops barely noticable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle notched March ’12. Pours very dark garnet red with a creamy 2-finger beige head. Aromas of cocoa, mocha, vanilla, chocolate, and some smoke; a bit sweet. The flavor is sweet chocolate and vanilla, light smoke, and marshmallow; this reminds me a bit of Southern Tier Choklat. Medium carbonation and body, with mild alcohol. Pretty nice.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Pinocchios. Dark pour with good lacing. Milky and lactic with chocolate malt balls. Not a lot of roast. Good but not great.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz. Bottle: Aroma of roast, malt, slight lactose, and a hint of char. Poured very dark brown in color with a large, creamy, dense, brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Very hazy. Sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, roasting, chocolate, and some lactose. Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Malt, roast, chocolate finish is slightly dry. 11%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a black coffee brown with a thin, half-finger head with a bubbly fluff of cream which quickly recedes. Aroma of graham crackers, burnt marshmallows, chocolates, (essentially, s’mores), roasted malts, coffee, subtle vanilla, and tons of cinnamon. Sort of loose bodied with a somewhat bitter, yet firm palate that does not yeild any trace of the alcohol; sublte flavors of caramel, esspreso, bittersweet chocolate, and almost marshmallowy in the finish. This beer is exellent. Very well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, licorice and alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted dark sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy chocolate sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This beer exceeded my expectations.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours deep brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma is boring with light dark fruit and a bit of roast. Flavor is a little mire aggressive...nice roast and good cocoa. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish has nice dark cocoa.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark, dark brown. Smells just as an imperial should smell. Taste of chocolate and coffee up front then fades to vannila on the back. Alcohol is hidden very well, but the effects are still there. Good job Atwater.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
pours black with a thick tan head.slight aroma of chocolate and coffee with a little smoke.flavor is heavy in chocolate with undertones of coffee and very little bitterness.mouthfeel is creamy but could definitly use some more body.at eleven percent alchohol is very well hidden.little fine tuning this could be a real good beer.needs more complexity and aroma.
