COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This malty, sweet, dark amber colored German-style bock beer is brewed with imported malt and hops. Its uncommon smoothness and impeccable taste make it the perfect companion for a cold night.

Smooth easy sweet bock. Covers up the 7.5 ABV well. Looks great doesn’t have lots of smell. Would go well with a juicy burger. Only down side is it has a metallic/dry finish.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, roasted malts. Dark amber brown hue with a small off-white head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is sweet with a mild finish. Palate is watery soft. Overall a below average beer. Aroma and flavor has an off note near the finish. Like cooked vegetables or metal. Lame overall.

Tap at Barcade: Deep orange with great clarity and an off white head. All diacetyl aroma- a butterbomb. Butter over a touch of toasted/ worty barley. Slick body, very buttery and grainy. The diacetyl smothers some pale mildly toasted barley. Diacetyl gone wild.

12oz bottle. Small tan head atop crystal clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, molasses, some chocolate, light raisin, anise. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, earthy/grass, some chocolate, orange, raisin. Medium body, light resin. A bit more bitter than I expect for a doppelbock, but tastes ok.

On Tap at mad Mex, ruby dark amber with no head and no lacing. Nice malt fragrance, fairly high carbonation level but OK, Citric and then coffe flavors with anice full mouth finish from the malts. Pretty nice

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of diacetyl, nuts, toasting, and caramel. Poured copper/amber in color with a small, off-white/tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of diacetyl, light toasting, and some malts. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Diacetyl and light malt finish.

Enjoyed via draft in a pub glass. The beer pours a deep brown, with a thick light tan head. The nose lacks the complex raisony malty character that great (or really even good) doppelbocks possess. If one spins the glass and really gets the nose into it, he can pick up some of the aforementioned character, but it isn’t as easy and perhaps as overwhelming as it should be. The palate is also perhaps more subtle than one would get with great doppelbocks. It is malt-forward, but too thin across the palate, and lacks the malty punch that one would expect. The finish is fairly clean and otherwise not unpleasant. Alcohol is generally well-muted. Overall, the beer is not as terrible as some other raters have pronounced, but niether is it very impressive.

Well-bodied and glassy ruby red look. One finger of rose-white head. Nice, deliberate carbonation. Looks really nice. Very very sour aroma, but in a metallic, cherry medicine way. Pure cough syrup. Downright unappetizing. Hint of grapefruit/citrus. Severely sour malt taste. Puckery but not in a good way. Like a sweet tart dipped in Robitussin. Sour, cloying saccharine cherry. Not a good tasting beer. The feel is creamy and fizzy. Good enough. Not a good beer, sorry to say. I could finish about half and then I had to dump the rest down the drain. Too bad really.

Aroma caramel malt, light coffiness, and vanilla. Flavor is a flat bland start with a pungent like bitter and light malt flavor. A beer that is not terrible but certainly isn’t my idea of a bock. It lacks the full body and sweet that I would hope from this beer. It was not infected just not very tasty

This beer looked really good. It was an opaque, dark brown with a large, small-bubbled, light tan head. The head hung in there to the list sip, a sip that took me almost a half hour to choke down. The first sip was bitter and a little thin, not the sweet, malty flavor advertisee. More hops than malt. Subsequent sips left a "tinny" aftertaste. The head held up and the tinny taste began to dominate. It looks great! Tastes bad!It will be awhile before I finish this six-pack. I hate to give up on anything but I’m afraid the remaining five will go down the drain.
