Smooth easy sweet bock. Covers up the 7.5 ABV well. Looks great doesn’t have lots of smell. Would go well with a juicy burger. Only down side is it has a metallic/dry finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Originally rated on 11/30/14. Pours a deep amber body, nice 2 finger head, little lacing though. Sweet caramel malts, with faint hints of dried fruits, and some spice in the aroma. Flavor is about the same as the aroma, watery caramel malts with very faint fruitiness. Overall its o.k. not much of a winter brew, but thankfully it wasnt offensive.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not much aroma, maybe some plum or dates. Appearance is beautiful, nice dark maroon color with a thin white head. Taste is bolder than I expected. This beer is just ok.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle: Red tinted, burnt orange & copper body with good clarity. Foamy khaki head settles quickly on top. Aroma of intensely sweet caramel malt; heavy, stale caramel, borderline cloying with underlying traces of red apple, prune, licorice, earthy must, & toffee. Flavor is kind of stale, too. Super malty. CaraMunich malts up the ass. Heavy caramel, dusty toffee, mild earth, apple, hint of grape. Weird tartness. Grainy, old caramel & weird gummy finish. Lingering malt stickiness & clumpy yeast. Atwater, pumping out them gems as usual. Super messy.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark caramel amber body with a small fizzy off-white head. The nose is slightly sweet with some caramel and slightly husky grain. The flavor is a bit thin and one dimensional, rather sweet with a slight dry huskiness on the finish. Not especially well lagered, it finishes a bit dry and dusty. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, about on par with what I’ve come to expect from this brewery.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml bottle. Burnt amber pour. Aroma is caramel malts and bread. Flavor is jsut hitting hte spot for me right now. It has the body of a much lesser beer but a nice sweetness that has you coming back for more. Not a typical doppelbock but I have had comparitive brews but this is better.
