Received sample 12-oz can from distributor to try. Pours a clear golden straw colored brew with a creamy white head that slowly dissipates to a cream top and minimal lacing. Aroma of lager yeast, bread dough, a hint of floral hops and a touch of honey. Taste is light to medium bodied, flavors of bread dough, floral hops and some mild lager yeast. Finish is semi-sweet with a lingering bread dough aftertaste.

Now why does the Atwater’s Lager beer can design remind me of a 1970s era Stroh’s Bohemian beer can? http://www.taverntrove.com/item.php?ItemId=3736

Pretty close to your typical light lager. A strange green hue to this though, similar to Badass Lager which makes me question Detroit’s water supply.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2009 Bottle. A pale yellow body with a HUGE foamy white head, slight spotty lacing, high carbonation. Aroma of sweet pale malt, grain, bread dough and grass. Flavor is somewhat sulphery , a bit of sweet caramel some fruity notes and then a tart lemony taste, short finish, way too fizzy in the mouth. This was drinkable but nothing I would buy again

Golden-amber pour with moderate but not excessive head. Sweet aroma and sweet flavor. Hops, malt, and a hint of the advertised caramel. Very soft mouthfeel.

Poured a hazed yellow with a HUGE white head that stood an inch and a half over the rim. It wouldn’t die down and made it hard to pour the rest of the beer. The aroma at first smelled like honey malt but then came some tart vinegar. The flavor was also pretty sour as well. Poop that sucks. It was the only beer in the fridge. I couldn’t drink it. One of only three or four drain pours out of well over 3000 beers.
