La boucaneuse is a smoked red ale, the boucane is french slang for smoke.
A: nice red color as an Irsh ale, no head at all. it’s missing something.
S. Smell like a cheap barbecue. not very expresive.
T: the mouth is full of liquid smoke, no body,
M: thin beer.
not a bad beer but nothing to look forward, missing a bit of caracter.
beerbuzzmontreal (2697), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 1, 2008 Pours a cloudy reddish brown color with a thin offwhite head. Nice aroma of smoked malt, reminds me of smoked ham. The flavor also has smoked malt, it’s not as intense as other rauchbiers, but it’s none the less interesting. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. Boutip (1745), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 9, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of caramel malt with light smoky notes. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some caramel malt with some medium smoke notes. Probably not as much smoke as some the German smoked beers out there but I am not sure that was the point anyway. Well balance and easily drinkable. french tickler (473), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Jul 1, 2008 341ml Bottle
