1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Eructoblaster (2121) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 31, 2010
Bottle - 500ml. Dark gold body with low carbonation. There is almost no head. Malty/hoppy aroma with strong sweet/fruity hints. Bad, misbalanced oversweetened taste that ends with a harsh alcohol finish. Very disappointing rocketfuel.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 Diogène (1000) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 21, 2010
Hazy yellow with no head, no carbonation. Aroma is banana, infection and malt. Flavor is like an imperial weizen with major infection and no carbonation, but this is supposed to be a belgian strong ale. The owner of Jovi had to return this first batch and got a second batch of Joviale which is a scotch ale. Its not as bad as the Strong Blond Ale but it is still badly infected...
1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 16, 2010
A dark reddish brown ale with a thick moka head. Aroma of light sour cherries and something definitely wrong and off. In mouth, An awful spoiled ale with acrid acidity, band aids, harsh and just plain bad. Drain pour...no wonder Jovi was selling those for 1.99$ a pop....
1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 presario (4131) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 13, 2010
Bottle. Decent head on dirty brown beer. Almost no aroma which is surprising for a strong Scotch. Flavour starts quiet then terrible taste builds in intensity. Ends sour and almost cranberry. One good mouthful is enough. Nothing "jovial" about this beer.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 cfrancis (1355) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2010
Oh my, how does this get made? Aroma is burnt malt and sweetness. Pours a clouded reddish brown with a big beige head the foamed out of the glass but laced well. Taste is a mess. Intense sweetness and tart sourness that is mixed with burnt malt. Seems more like a sour but not at all balanced. Just makes you wince when you put it into your mouth.

Bouteille 500ml.

500 ml bottle from Marche Jovi (go figure!), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear amber-ish with a small rim of white.
Aroma: Quite fruity, grainy, a bit of floral honey, sweet, kinda spicy, a little yeasty, a little boozy, no hop notes to speak of.
Palate: Medium body and very sparse effervescence.
Flav.: Grain, alcohol, some lighter fruitiness, a touch of spice and yeast; sweet with a touch of bitterness and more alcohol.
Not a good ASA. Not a good beer.
0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 rodenbach99 (1912) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 9, 2010
This JoviAle was poured from a 500ml brown bottle thatwas bought in Lavigne for 4,39$.
This beer has nor head, it has a golden hazy robe. This belgian ale has a light nose, The mouth is off, with thin flavor, ackward taste, and someything I dislike. Far from being a nice beer.
1.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 Boutip (3451) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 7, 2010
Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with small foamy head with no retention. Aroma of candy-like ester is somewhat interesting but grossly over-sweet malt notes are not that pleasant. Taste is OK for the candy-like ester but incredibly bad afterward with a confused mix of overly sweet malt and light alcoholic phenols. It is a wonder that the brewery even allowed the product to be released.
