Bouteille.

pours a very dark amber almost brown. Interesting aroma of dark caramel malt, and some corriander, and pine. Flavour is actually quite woody, and piney, with an odd aftertaste of kosher dill pickles, and is quite bitter in the finish. Wow, this is odd. I"m not liking this.

Malty aroma, caramel and a hint of toast, deep copper, small, firm, long lasting toffee head, some lace. Flavour is woody, nutty, roasted malts, some pitfruit. Medium bodied, very well balanced, quite bitter. Very nice example.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-mahogany with an average size diminishing white head. Mild yet somewhat pleasant aroma of caramel malt, peas (!), nuts and light hops. Peas? Weird. it kind of works though. Surprisingly good flavour of caramel malt, nuts, fruit, light floral hops and a decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. I was not expecting much from this beer but it was actually pretty good and one of AMB’s finer efforts.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color alt with a medium foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of huge caramel malt with some medium sweetness is quite enjoyable. Taste is dominated by some huge caramel malt with some notes of nuts and a light hoppy finish. Full body with some average carbonation. Definitely the best thing I have had from this somewhat inconsistent brewery.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2008 A dark clear brown ale with a thick lacing moka head. Light nutty malt in aroma with light lactic notes. In mouth, caramel and nutes, with light off flavours, and astringent bitterness. Bought at Joannette’s on Oct. 7 and tasted Oct. 10 5-4-5-3-11 2007.

A reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. A classy English hops in aroma with light butterscotch and light vanilla. In mouth, a crisp biscuit malt, light C-hops, medium bodied. Nice classy alt. Shared with the Outaouais Crew, at Old Stock Tasting No. IV, Nov.11 2006, as Sous Verre Alt. 7-3-7-3-13

Bottle. Pours a dark copper body with a medium-sized soapy white head, leaving some lace. The aroma is pretty nutty with plenty of caramel malts and light vegetation. Extremely bitter up front with light breadiness and nut flavour balancing it out. Body is a bit brash but still quite drinkable.
