probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, - APR 22, 2010
500 ml bottle shared by Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a goblet. 10AP10.

App.: Hazy dirty olive-amber with a fair off-white foam. Aroma: Peppery, acidic, aggressive, infected, spicy, strangely fruity, sour, funky, messy, awful. Palate: Medium body and full, round effervescence. Flav.: Nasty organic acids with a strange fruitiness, odd nuttiness, metallic (d’oh!), awful; kinda sweet with inappropriate (infection) bitterness and a weird, nasty finish.

Horrific.

Bottle shared by Lubière, Merci! Hazy, dirty olive amber with medium head. Aroma is acidic, vinegary with strange fruits and pepper. Flavor is acidic, astringent, and modest bitternest with cardboard, metal and some fruits. Awful! Sampled with Lubière, Probstk and Mike.

Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2010
A hazed amber ale with a thick lacing light moka head. In aroma, bad peppery hops, light band-aid, some weird fruit pulp. In mouth, a harsh and astringent ale, with light fruity esters, and loads of metal....science. Tasted with Diogene, ProbstK and Mike H., April 10 2010.

Bouteille 500ml.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light prunes and with light caramel malt notes as well. Taste is not as intense as expected with light dry fruits and some caramel malt with a somewhat dry finish. Body is lighter then expected with good carbonation. Lacking character but definitely not as bad as what I tasted form this brewery recently.

Forte odeur d’épices. Peu de mousse, légère dentelle. Un goût un peu acre.

The Metal Science is from the Mad Science collection brewed for L’Impact in Quebec City. This is a Strong Brown Beer with Prune. The pour shows good carbonation with a dense beige head, good retention. The beer is copper in colour and shows some cloudiness. I’m still looking to find some prune on the nose, it has more of a yeasty aromatic profile. The beer is thin, no prune in the mouth neither, some yeast (belgian probably), some bitterness. This beer missed the mark and need more prune caracter, or don’t mention it on the label.
