COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the classic American pilsner style, our popular pils is a tribute to the pre-prohibition lagers developed and brewed by immigrant German brewmasters as they settled in the United States in the 1800s. This is a medium-bodied straw colored pilsner with an elegant hop bitterness and lingering aroma.

Tap, City Beer Store. Solid pilsner. Light gold, transparent. Nice white head. Aroma has a great blend of grassy hops and lager yeastiness. Fresh grain. Doesn’t go overboard with the hops. Dry, refreshing flavor. Mouthfeel is light and effervescent. I support any craft brewery making a serious stab at a lager.

Sourdough bread and peppery hops on the nose. Pale golden with a soft head. Sourdough bread, pepper, and grassy hops with a good dose of bitterness too. DRy and quenching, tasty.

Draught at the brewpub. Herbal, spicy, and grassy hops fill the aroma. Not super intense, but very forward for a pils. The flavor is balanced toward the hoppy and bitter side, but also has a nice bready malt profile anchoring things. Light and crisp mouthfeel. Clean and well done pils with a nice healthy hop presence.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear yellow with a short white head and a floral hop flavor. This is pretty tasty for a pilsner. The pils malt is a bit thin, but there is a nice hop bitterness.

A golden pils with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice grasy malt and light German hops. In mouth, a nice refreshing pils with crips malt, sharp German hops, grassy and spot on to style. On tap at brewpub, 27 August 2009.

12 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Herbal, spicy hop notes with some lemon presence as well. Light doughiness and some acidity is also there. Nicely aromatic. Transparent yellow body with a small white head that is quickly dissipating. Light lacing. Wow! A crazy hoppy pils. Lots of peppery, herbal hops to start with a light doughiness in the middle. Very intense, bitter, herbal spicy, metallic hoppiness to finish. Lingers for a while. This is really brash. I like a hoppy pilsener, but this is entirely over the top. Unbalanced.
