12 ounce sample at the brewpub. Citrus orange juicey hopped aroma. Lightly catty and sweet with some mild ethanol notes. Pretty nice aroma. Moderately hazy orangey-amber body with a strong, frothy off-yellow head. Earthy hoppiness present to start with some soapy cleanser-like flavors in the middle. A little chewy, and then it becomes more grapefruity, bitter, and citrus-like to finish. Pretty juiced up, but there is a little ethanol late. A fair IIPA.

Lubiere (9770) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 29, 2009
A dark copper amber ale with almost no head. A rather pungeant caramel and treacle, a bit vinous, meaty notes, cloying, with some c-hops coming through. In mouth, a oily and vinous malt, with meatextract, loads of c-hops, medling well with malt, warming alcohol in finale. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, 27 August 2009.

On tap at Sacramento Brewing. This copper ale poured with a rich off-white head and a musty malt aroma. There is a tasty caramel malt base upon which some serious hop bitterness is built.

Tap at Sac Brew. Pours amber with a stiff off-white head. Fairly strong aroma of citrusy hop. Body approaches full, carbonation is creamy. It laces. Flavor is really mellow. Hop is strong, but not harsh. The IBU must be pretty high though. Finish is definitely quite bitter. It’s very pleasant. Not at all harsh.
