0,5 l bottle from P&M Getränke, best before 5/10/2015. Murky, dark reddish brown with a huge, foamy, stable, tan head. Aroma of banana, dark cherries, toffee, nuts, honeydew and vanilla. Sweetish taste of banana, dark cherries, nuts and even hints of chocolate and prunes. Medium long, sourish and slightly bitter finish with lots of clove. Full body, creamy and thick mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very satisfying and tasty. Balanced with an awesome mouthfeel, lovely!

(Rating #5990)

Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown color bock with a nice light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of banana bread is pretty intense with some caramelized malt notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by caramelized malt with some huge banana bread ester with a medium level of residual sugars. Body is light with good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Nice beer which is way too easy to drink of the ABV with nice level of complexity.

A good dose of nutmeggy, slightly clovey banana bread escapes the glass as the dull brown beer with a lasting dark beige foam is being poured. Not as explosive as some, but unmistakable Weizenbock character, with a grainier, fairly malty flavour profile reminiscent of raisin cookies. Doughyness is never far behind and spies over your shoulder as you delve deeper into this agreeable, spot on example. Was that a vegetable undertone in the background; perhaps, but if it were, as with a Saison Dupont for instance, it is not a poor fit with the yeast character. Pretty ample texture, feeling round in spite of the generous carbonation and sugar levels kept at reasonably low levels.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2014 My Bottom Line:
Bananas, pears, cloves, earth and raisins interlock in this effervescent, refined Weizenbock, leading to bitter hops and more earthy lengths.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam decorates the misty dark purple.
-The flavor profile is not as intense and not as yeasty as Aventinus (for example).
-Chocolatey notes appear in the second half.
-The yeast pour obfuscates but a portion of the flavor profile.
-The mouthfeel is lean and nicely drinkable.
-This textbook example may not be that memorable, but it is very well crafted and highly enjoyable.

Pours a cloudy dark orange/brown with a very large tan head. The smell is banana, clove, toffee, rich fruit, wheat, yeast, mild bubblegum. The taste is clove, banana, roasted malt, wheat, ending spicy and a bit dry. There is definite sweetness in the middle and a bit of alcohol as well. The body is medium with average carbonation.

Murky brown, large fluffy head. Bottle fermented, according to the label. Grain, soft wheat malt, some proper bopck sourness. Prunes. Dry tail.
