Bottle: Pale golden coloured with a mid-sized, stable fluffy head, sticking to the glass; delicate but distinctive floral-resinous hoppy nose with a malty touch; mild, moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; aromatic, a bit resinous, hoppy finish, supported by sweet pale malt. Very decent and moreish Pilsener from - can’t belive it- Hessen..............
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - SEP 20, 2006
(bottle, from pivnizub - many thanks !) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized foamy white head. Slightly sweet malty, herbal and spicy hoppy, slightly resiny aroma, that reminds me a bit of Bohemia. Sweetbitter flavour, light to medium body, crispy carbonated mouthfeel. Soft malty base, faint hints of fruitiness, herbal hoppy background; dry, slightly malty and bitter hoppy finish. Well-rounded and pretty drinkable.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - AUG 6, 2006
Decent noble hop aroma that comes across slightly spicy, but the flavor is slightly dry and chalky. Drinkable, but unappealing on the palate.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 13, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Rather pale golden with a goodlooking and creamy head. Distinct aroma of hops that also leave a bitterness that’s a bit too astringent for my liking. 120702
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 DarkElf (2961) - La Jolla, California, USA - FEB 19, 2005
(16.9 oz bottle: $2.10 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) Yet another unexciting imported German pilsner that fails to distinguish itself. It has a somewhat grainy malt profile, lightly sweet, and a spicy hoppiness that contributes a moderate bitterness for balance, especially in the finish. The nose is grainy and lightly hoppy, but also shows a light breadiness that doesn’t reveal itself in the flavor. The palate is fairly light in body, crisp and clean, and well carbonated. The color is a generic pale yellow, but the steady supply of carbonation bubbles is visually appealing. The white head is on the small side, fading to a sheen in time. Only a few traces of lace are left on the glass. Not the worst pilsner I’ve ever tasted, but the flavor certainly doesn’t compel me to buy another bottle again.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BeerLimey (2135) - California, USA - NOV 17, 2004
Slightly hazed, yellowy appearance, modest head formation. Doughy bready and spicy citrus hop aroma. Sweet malt palate, blended with peppery spice and bitter biting citrus. Dry citrus bite in the finish.
