UPDATED: FEB 25, 2008 I’m not sure if this was a special batch or a new summer seasonal. It was light and crisp as pilsners should be, but not lacking in flavor as so many are. It had just enough dryness to let hopheads enjoy, without losing its roots to the pilsner style. A great summer thirst quencher.

Sampled at STL Microfest 2012 - Not sure if this is the right entry for this pilsner, but it seemed to be the closest match. Pours clear yellow with a white head. The aroma has pale pils malt, light bread, bit of spicy hops and some floral notes. Medium body that’s full for the style with soft carbonation. The flavor starts with pale malt, hints of sulfur, some grassiness and a bit of spice. The finish is clean and crisp. Really nice pils.

Straw color with a moderate white head. Light floral and herbal hops in the aroma. Light pale malt flavors with a nice balancing crisp herbal hops bite.

Thanks for sharing, JPDIPSO. A medium gold colored body. Nice bready aroma with some light carrots. The taste is sweet and spicy at the same time. There is also a hint of walnuts.

JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 31, 2005
Wheaty bock aroma. Pale amber body, thin head. Stale, astringently hopped wheat. "Astringency" is not overpowering though. Some banana and pear in there to make it interesting. Light, but not bad.

CaptainCougar (7129) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - SEP 11, 2005
Sampled on 8/14/05 courtesy of JPDIPSO: Pours a still, clear golden with a thin, wispy white head. Aroma has lots of saaz hops and a good, dry malty presence. Body is lightly soapy, very dry and bittersweet with a semi-earthy dry finish. Very smooth and maybe even over-hopped for the style, but still decent.

Thanks John. This beer pours to a golden body with no head. The aroma is full. Fresh grains. The flavor is tart grains. Not all that special, nor that boring.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2009 On tap at the Heritage Brew Festival. Pours a pale gold with a minimal, but lingering white head. A true pils taste with mild pale malt and soft floral hops. This is a good one!

tap at brewpub in Augusta, MO. pours pale yellow with a nice fizzy white head. aroma has notes of diacytl, grainy, leafy, hoppy (spicy). flavors are sweet grainy and with some hop bite in their as well. very bitter, but not really overly for this style. long bitter/hoppy finish that becomes grassy over time.
