2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Slight malty aroma. Clear warm golden colour. Slight caramel sweetness at the front with a quenching bitterness towards the end. Medium body and mild carbonation. A fine ale, but not too exciting

Aroma: Banana, orange
Appearance: dark amber
Taste: Fruity start, especially the orange is pronounced with some underlying caramel taste. Ends with a dry finish. Low-medium carbonation and minor lacing.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear brew with decent head, well carbonated, and darker yellow colour. Muted brew with a slightly floral hoppy note, some malts and caramel. Fast tasting brew with light mid palate and a slightly hoppy finish. Meh, boring beer but not the worst.

50 cl can, Mulmur, ON, Canada via Paul. Pale amber, weak-tea appearance. Sweet caramel bread aroma. More sweetness on first sip. slight ginger flavour with caramel and cardamom spice. Finish is a bit too sweet for me, though it’s certainly quaffable.

Rated version cask AAXH - "Augusta Ale Extra Hoppy" from hops added to cask. "We recently decided to try three new hop combinations for our most recent batch of cask – Citra, Amarillo and Saaz." - August 2012. Well this cask pint is mellow and rounded with nice alefruit, no English mustiness, and a pleasant zing of citrus and lightly bitter hops. AAXH deserves the session ale qualification even at 5.5% because it’s gorgeously drinkable and still full-flavored enough that I don’t drain my glass in five minutes like water. At The Only Café, Danforth and Donlands Toronto.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
473 mL can. Pours a dark yellow, with a modest head that lasts. Nicely carbonated. Aroma of some pine. The mouth feel is fairly carbonated, some flavor of hops. Long, bitter, finish. But it's not all that pleasant. On balance this is not a bad beer and is certainly a good effort for Canadian ale. Not sure I would order again, though.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a finger & a half cap that breaks to foamy cavities but I was on my 5th or 6th beer (see my ratings tonite) when I poured so it could be my technique. May not have the body of a starlet but this beer has character.
