3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Gorbalev (2827) - Ontario, - JUL 29, 2012On tap at Burger Bar and in cans from LCBO. Dark yellow, small white foamy head. Fruity hop and malt aroma. Taste is very good - generously fruity hopped over a medium body that seems well carbonated with a long bitter longer. A perfect session beer. Certainly better fresh on tap vs. in the can, yet the can does retain that flavourful bitter "session"ability in the beer that I enjoy. A solid ale.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DerWeg (1402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2013
Rated version cask AAXH - "Augusta Ale Extra Hoppy" from hops added to cask. "We recently decided to try three new hop combinations for our most recent batch of cask – Citra, Amarillo and Saaz." - August 2012. Well this cask pint is mellow and rounded with nice alefruit, no English mustiness, and a pleasant zing of citrus and lightly bitter hops. AAXH deserves the session ale qualification even at 5.5% because it’s gorgeously drinkable and still full-flavored enough that I don’t drain my glass in five minutes like water. At The Only Café, Danforth and Donlands Toronto.

473 mL can. Pours a dark yellow, with a modest head that lasts. Nicely carbonated. Aroma of some pine. The mouth feel is fairly carbonated, some flavor of hops. Long, bitter, finish. But it's not all that pleasant. On balance this is not a bad beer and is certainly a good effort for Canadian ale. Not sure I would order again, though.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Freaky_tiki (87) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2013
Pours a finger & a half cap that breaks to foamy cavities but I was on my 5th or 6th beer (see my ratings tonite) when I poured so it could be my technique. May not have the body of a starlet but this beer has character.

473 ml can. Pours a clear yellow but with a suspended haze (hmmmm) and a large short-lived white head. Aroma is musty, some wood, grain, and a touch of spice. Tastes are dry grainy malt, slight hop bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel is chalky with a medium bitter finish.
