[3670-20110408] Cask. Light citrus notes in the aroma otherwise not much. Slightly hazy, bright orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Light tree bark citrus flavour has some toasted peel notes. Medium body. Bitter and tasty, so far so good, though maybe a little green. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

On tap at Burger Bar and in cans from LCBO. Dark yellow, small white foamy head. Fruity hop and malt aroma. Taste is very good - generously fruity hopped over a medium body that seems well carbonated with a long bitter longer. A perfect session beer. Certainly better fresh on tap vs. in the can, yet the can does retain that flavourful bitter "session"ability in the beer that I enjoy. A solid ale.

Canette 473ml.

On tap at The Burger bar, golden-amber-copper color, with a white head, nice fruity, piney, leafy, floral hop nose, with some faint toasted, caramel, biscuity malt note, and some citrusy, lemon, grapefruit english hoppy accents in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp earthy flowery, leafy, grassy, piney, hop character at first, with a zesty, lemon, grapefruit peel, cedary backbone, and a light biscuity, toasty maltiness undertone, leading towards a nice leafy, grassy, piney, citsusy hop bittering finish.

Note: 6+ /10

473 ml can from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. Comparison of first canned batch to second (I think...).
App.: Clear bright amber with a fair white head; the older can may be a tad darker?
Aroma: Earthy, biscuity, a touch fruity, a little peppery and resinous, a hint of caramel, a bit dusty, minerals, not much difference between batches.
Palate: Medium body, fine, slightly prickly effervescence.
Flav.: Like the nose, an interesting blend of British earthiness with peppery notes, some resin, a touch of fruitiness, a little biscuit (maybe), a touch of caramel, maybe a little citrus too; dry with pretty good bitterness and a reasonably nice, slightly fruity and peppery finish.
The initial canned batch was said to be disappointing compared to earlier, draught-only batches. The company promised to make it right. I don’t detect much difference between the two, assuming I have two batches in glass.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2011 Augusta Ale - Burger Bar
Appearance: golden orange, very little visible carbonation & a small snow white head.
Aroma: quite a grassy nose at first, mildly spiced with some good malt & woodiness.
Flavour: Grainy & grassy up front, quite a nutty undertone with hints of spices. Quite flavourful with an enjoyable malt finish. It’s quite sessionable indeed!

Metallic and sour aroma that is slightly enteric, with notes of cherries and base malt. Slightly hazy gold under lacy white. Slightly enteric and cheesy flavour with base malt, faint hops, and moderate bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation. Are you sure this isn’t a Trafalgar beer?
