3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 probstblueribbon (2379) - Nepean, Ontario, - NOV 16, 2012473 ml can from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. Comparison of first canned batch to second (I think...).
App.: Clear bright amber with a fair white head; the older can may be a tad darker?
Aroma: Earthy, biscuity, a touch fruity, a little peppery and resinous, a hint of caramel, a bit dusty, minerals, not much difference between batches.
Palate: Medium body, fine, slightly prickly effervescence.
Flav.: Like the nose, an interesting blend of British earthiness with peppery notes, some resin, a touch of fruitiness, a little biscuit (maybe), a touch of caramel, maybe a little citrus too; dry with pretty good bitterness and a reasonably nice, slightly fruity and peppery finish.
The initial canned batch was said to be disappointing compared to earlier, draught-only batches. The company promised to make it right. I don’t detect much difference between the two, assuming I have two batches in glass.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Freaky_tiki (49) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 4, 2013
Pours a finger & a half cap that breaks to foamy cavities but I was on my 5th or 6th beer (see my ratings tonite) when I poured so it could be my technique. May not have the body of a starlet but this beer has character.

Light to medium sweet flavor with light bread, faint caramel, mild pine, orange citrus. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Faintly resinous to finish with more pale malts and light straw. Very decent beer.
