tap at Square One Brewing in St Louis-dark ruby amber mahogony hue with a beige sudsy topping. dark fruits, currants, plums, apples and quite a bit of diacytl unfortunately. flavors resemble the dark fruits moreso than anything else-black cherries, figs, and even some spices (cinnamon, allspice). the diacytl isn’t as noticible on the flavors as the aroma suggests. some light licorice comes out in the finish as the drink warmed up a bit. a fairly complex yet unrefined barleywine.
