COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Ardennes Forest. A peaceful escape. A place for reflection. A romantic retreat. The site of some of the world’s oldest monasteries. Also, home to the special yeast that gives Augusta Tripel its signature taste and fruity intensity. We use palm sugar from India to create a 9% ABV beer. Our deep golden Tripel Abbey Ale always transcends the ordinary.

Batch # 4- Pours a dark golden color with a good head and ample lacing. Has a muted aroma of dark fruit and spice. I expected a bit more. Taste of dark fruit and spice, with a hidden bit of sweetness and a dry finish. Medium body, smooth with a just a trace of the alcohol. Had just a bit of a sticky aftertaste. Enjoyable and relaxing. I am not too familiar with this style but it was a good representation by a small Missouri brewer.

Strykzone (3132) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 10, 2010
A golden amber pour with moderate carbonation and some sediment. A big off white head never completely faded. A nice complex fruit aroma with light yeast. Flavor is also fruit dominated with tangerine, honey, alcohol, caramel, apples, sugar. This was a flavorful beer but I wasn’t sure what style it was. Whatever style, I enjoyed it.

SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 8, 2010
Sampled at the 7th Annual Parkville Microbrew Festival on April 24th, 2010. Pours dark gold with a white head. A bit of a haze to the cloudiness. This surprisingly does not suck. Has a big fruity aroma. There’s lots of honey, nectar and fruit flavors here. It finishes with a big medicinal bang at the end.
