3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 beastiefan2k (1920) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - FEB 18, 2012
750mL cork and cage bottle. Batch 3.. The cork was poorly placed in this bottle but fortunately no undesired effects. Pours with a medium large head that has a good retention and a nicely sticky lacing. Color is a cloudy very pale golden and it glows despite the cloudiness. Looks pretty. Aroma is medium strength citrus and lemon. Effervescent on the nose. Just a faint hint bubblegum ester. Flavor is not strong, a very dry flavor with citrus tang and just a faint hint of bubblegum ester, which works very will with the beer. Its exceptionally executed. No elements that dominate and beautifully melded with a drying brew. A very light easy drinking mouthfeel. with a long dry aftertaste I do not get any ginger but I know I am not sensitive to it. I am not sure why this is rating so poorly but it may be batch variations. Great to drink, this beer has turned around my view of Augusta Brewery.

750ml bottle - thanks to Bu11zeye.
Pours a cloudy yellow with frothy white head - nice retention. Spiced citrus aroma, crisp mouthfeel. Carbonation is on the higher end - orange and clove flavor. I really enjoyed this beer and would drink it again.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2526) - Eureka, California, USA - MAR 29, 2011
From my trading partner - Strykzone. My corked and caged bottle was labeled Batch 3. The pour was hazy gold, and left a soapy foam head and sticky lacing. The nose is wheat and spices with cloves and the advertised ginger showing in the aroma. The body is medium and the mouthfeel on the lively side with lots of carbonation The flavor adds in some ripe citrus flavors to the wheat and spices and it finished crisp and refreshing. I think they have improved this some since batch 1, as I found it pretty darn good.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 SkyinBrian (430) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 1, 2008
Draft at the brewpub, served with an orange slice (which was quickly removed from the rim of my glass). This was very nice and refreshing on a hot day. This brew had some of the typical characteristics of the style though it was definately not overspiced whic was good.

Bottle shared by andy at DLD. Thanks! Notes of peary yeast, bread, soap. crisp fruity and sweet. Ok, not great. Wasn’t a huge fan of the soapy breadiness.

22 oz. bottle shared by Andy at DLD ’10. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a finger-thick white head. Aroma of bready malts, wheat, yeast, pears, bananas. Flavor is almost identical, with an unusual mineral note. Bready mouthfeel, light-bodied, and gently carbonated. Not bad for the style but nothing special.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Strykzone (3132) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 7, 2010
Bottle labeled Batch no. 1. My 22 oz. glass is almost 1/3 foam as this beer is poured. That foam is soapy white and it dissipates in a couple of minutes. The beer is cloudy golden and is well carbonated. Surprisingly big aroma is wheat, cloves, and faint soap. Flavor offers fruit with pears, lemon, and a bit of orange. Wheat, grass, clove, just a bit of yeast and it is somewhat sour. This is a pleasant summer quencher that was enjoyed after mowing. Feel was slightly powdery and lacked zest but was medium bodied. Nothing special.
