Drat at Baileys Range. Pours black with a thin khaki head that leaves little lacing. Not much on the nose. Definitely get roasted malt on the tongue but I agree with those that say the finish tastes burnt. Eh!

On tap at the Parkville Microbrew Festival. Pours black with a light brown head. The aroma and flavors are very roasted. Fairly watery with a thin body, but it does have a pleasant bitterness.

tap at brewpub in Augusta, MO. pours deep brown with a nice sudsy tan head. big roasty, coffee, char aroma that is somewhat one dimensional, but not in a bad way. big char, anise, roast flavors with a largely roasty finish with some light smokey notes. very char laden finish. body is almost lite, but not really detracting since the flavors here are well delivered. I like !

It poured a dark color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of maple syrup, maple smoke and some mocha. The taste was like the aroma. A very good Stout.

Tasted 11/5 from the brewery. Dark brown and opaque hue. Chocolate, medium coffee roast, slight sugar and caramel, and anise notes in the nose. Chocolate and caramel flavors at first, then bitter and coffee. Creamy stout, with a mild dry hop finish. Easy!

On Tap- Was served a black color, with a 1 finger head that faded quickly with some lacing. Roasted malt and hint of sweetness. Roasted malt and dark chocolate with a bitter finish. Medium body, with a creamy texture and went down smooth & easy. Enjoyable brew but could have been a bit more robust. Good for a couple or just relaxing.

Tasted at the 2012 St. Louis Centennial Beer Festival from tap into sampler glass. The recent 1st place winner at the Great American Beer Festival for Dry Stout, same category as Guinness! Obviously an excellent, true-to-style stout. Dry, dark, roasty, hints of chocolate, coffee, dark fruit. Nothing imperial strength or crazy about it, but very smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Tap at winery. Pour is deep brown/ almost black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is loaded with milk chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee, light brown sugar, and a hint of hops in the background. Flavor is also very rich and full with loads of roasted chocolate malt, light coffee and a silky smooth finish. This was a huge surprise, excellent and so drinkable too. Left a thick dark brown film in the glass. loved it.
