topherh (249), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jan 23, 2008 Draft at the brewpub Pours a nice orange color. Aroma is of hops and a little malt. Flavor was more malty than I expected with a generous amount of hops. Not as hoppy as I thought it would be, but not bad. Strykzone (850), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 25, 2007 A copper colored pale ale. Aroma is hops and more hops, as it should be. Flavor is also dominated by tart hops and a bitterness remains in the mouth. Mouth feel is sticky as resin. Some malt appears late. More substantial than many of its genre and a better beer than I expected. Sledge Jr (2692), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 26, 2006 On tap at the 2006 Best of the Midwest Brewers’ Festival. Looks like a pale ale. Dark gold/light amber with a big bubbled white head. Fruity aroma. At first taste has a bitterness, then it’s followed by a mild sweetness and finishes with a solid gypsum tartness. A workingman’s pale ale. Terminus (1955), Illinois, USA Nov 14, 2005 tap at brewpub in Augusta, MO. pours cloudy orange with an off-white head and sparse lacing. earthy, carmely, hoppy aroma with some piney/earthy hop notes. big resin, earthy hop flavors with a good sweet malt base which sugests a good balanced pale ale in both the american and english styles. some light metallic astringency on the finish, but thats due to the resiny hops used here. medium body with a good mouthfeal. some very nice green/english hop cone flavors here in the finish. dry and resiny finish that is very nice. a cool and unique pale ale here. sneagrams3 (1314), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 6, 2005 Tasted 11/5 from the Brewery. Amber hue with clear body. Light tan head. Good light malt roast and hop in the nose. Dry hopped with a bitter finish. Good caramel malt flavor. A bit heavier of a pale but fine beer.
