COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered
Contract brewed since 1978 by Van Steenberge for the Augustinian monastery at Stephen’s Church in Ghent using the original yeast culture. Sold outside of Belgium as St Stefanus, after the church, to differentiate it from beers that may be made by other Augustinian communities. The monastery receives money from each sale.
Ingredients: Pale, Pilsener and Munich malts; brewing sugar; Saaz, German Hallertau; additional bittering hops.
Partially filtered after primary fermentation, then cool matured for four weeks. Filtered and then reseeded with Brett and another yeast, and warm conditioned for two weeks. Bottled and stored for a minimum three months before distribution.

Interesting malty beer with a strange twist. There is vegetable and some sour notes. Thereis something weird about this one… I don’t know...

Rating from St Stefanus Blonde. This should be a different entry. different abv probably different beer altogether. whatever alias or its called, this beer rocks. Pours lightly hazy orange hue with a nice bubbly white head and vigorous carbonation. Nose of noble hops, lite citrus, apples, flavors of nice grassy hops, lite citrus, spice. carbonation is heavy with lots of prickly action on the tongue which elevates the spice elements in the beer. FInish is long with lingering notes of brown sugar, apples, spicy hops and belgian yeast. Fantastic Belgian ale if you ask me. and its not a BSA.

Bottle. Bit spicy, bit tripel like, not hugely distinctive but it’s nice enough. Pear, some bitterness. Quite spritzy.

Robe blonde dorée, mousse crémeuse moyenne. Nez épicé, grain moyen et houblon léger. Bullage fin. Bière ronde, douce, léger acidulé, épicée, levure présente. Petite amertume houblonnée en fin de bouche, courte. Bière blonde belge très (trop) classique.

Kolor miedziano pomara?czowy, klarowny. Piana wysoka drobno p?cherzykowa z kilkoma wi?kszymi b?blami, d?ugotrwa?a, pozostawia sporo zdobie?, w kolorze ecru. Aromat owocowy, pomara?cze i brzoskwinie, dalej dro?d?e i siano. Smak troch? gorzej, wyszed? alkohol, pó?niej do g?osu dochodz? owoce, ponownie siano i nuty dro?d?owe. Wysycenie ?rednie w kierunku do wysokiego. Alkohol niestety wychodzi, a nie ma go zbyt wiele. Uwagi: przyzwoity Blond, niestety alkohol psuje wszystko.
