330ml bottle. Deep, cloudy yellow with frothy white lacing. Aroma is that sweet-sour of straight Belgian yeast, followed by fruit and toffee notes and an alcohol wash. Strong & sharp.

Medium white head. Clear yellow body with carbonation, large bubbles. Spicy dried fruit aroma. Dryish oily coriander and dried fruit taste with soft metal and spice notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel, slightly hot at the end. Dryish dried fruit and honey aftertaste with soft metal and rock sugar notes. Spicy cinnamon and mint, too. Delicate, subtle and highly drinkable. Grew on me as I drank, really very good. (0.33l bottle at Café Gollem, Amsterdam.)

Strong head, yellow almost clear appearance. Not too bitter, a hint of citruses and acidity. Alcohol content is not too detectable.

Clear gold with a slight chill haze under an unstable rocky and fizzy head. Aroma of mango and dusty honey, with a touch of banana. Flavor is bright with blonde malt earthiness, a little dusty yeast, a touch of banana, and a kick of mango and a very light bubbglegum on the semi-dry finish. Lingering tone of dusty honey.

Augustijn Blond has a pretty thick, off-white head and a somewhat hazy, bubbly, golden appearance, with a large amount of thick lacing left behind on the glass. As a side note- the contents exploded out of the bottle when I popped the cap. The aroma is of overly-sweet, strong malt and grain husks. Flavor is the same, with some fruitiness and even caramel, if one can believe it. The alcohol is masked, to an extent. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit slick, and Augustin Blond finishes semi-dry, sweet, and fairly drinkable. Overall, this is not for the weak-at-heart, but it is still a bold, wonderful beer. It’s worth the price! RJT

Draft at trollekelder. Clear golden, white head. Good lacing. Well drinkable, but a bit boring. Malty, yeast, some spices, medium sweet and very small bitterness.

Bottle at Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Really very pleasant for a Belgian Blonde. Creamy, tasty Belgian yeast, wrapped silkily inside a quaffable, chest-warming ale. Got better. Liked.
