Pretty good Belgian abbey-style blonde beer. Plenty of hops, okay murky yellow appearance. Not particularily unique but good.

Draft at sharp edge. Poured a golden color. Aroma is belgium yeast, banana, spice, coriander. Kind of a weaker taste, somewhat watery. Some spice, some dry finish.

Big white foamy head but has the golden color of something from the Rockies. Great wheaty aroma. It’s kind of fizzy on the palate.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a large frothy white head but little lacing. Aroma is of Belgian yeast, alcohol notes, some fruity sweetness. Flavor is medium sweet with malt, yeast and alcohol dominating. Lightly bitter finish. Heavily carbonated and fizzy in the mouth.

Flaske spandert av Rune. Kjøpt i Brugge i ølbutikken Cornelius som “Brugge Cornelius Bier”. Delt under rateseanse i H9 16 Mai 12. Litt over ett år etter at han kjøpte den da vi var på studietur i Belgia. Flaska har en enkel etikett med kniplingsmotiv: Typisk for Brugge. Gyldenbrun. Lavt skum. Litt uklar. Fruktig aroma. Smaken er litt krydder. Blir forbausende anonym.

Came from a Belgian variety 6-pack. Careful pour on this one or the foam will get out of hand quickly. Large bubble diameters, nearly 1mm. Color is golden, somewhat cloudy, with an amber glow depending on the backlight. I have a clogged up nose, but banana, complemented by a spicy and herbal cut through with banana the dominant aroma. Taste is hay, corn, banana and wheat. I would describe it as pleasantly bitter(but not IPA bitter) at first, with a touch of sourness in the end. Mouthfeel is bubbly and frothy, but the carbonation complements the other aspects well. Not very thick, splashy I would say. Overall, it has good aroma, flavor, and feels good on the way down. It tends to give you "American wheat beer thirst" as I call the non-refreshing quality of wheat beer that only the Germans have overcome. I have no idea if this is a wheat brew or not, but it has all the attributes, the head, the banana aroma, the mouth-puckering finish(German wheat is refreshing).

330ml bottle. Strong and huge head. Taste is sweet and for my opinion too strong sense of alcohol. Fizzy and lively carbonation. This beer is for long degustation along with some heavy meat meal.

June 2009: The last bottle from a four pack and glass given to me in Ostend. Poured into the said correct glass. The beer had 7 months life left on opening. Poured very nicely, giving a full inch of a white foaming head. The body was a clear bright amber with bubbles forcing their way unwards to the head. Yeasts and hops attack your nose and a subtle toffee aroma sneaks in when you least expect it. Up front alcohol, no hidding place from it at all. Malts try and disguise the alcohol but fail, the toffee sweetness in the smell is almost detectable in the taste, but again the overpowering alcohol content subdues it. I think this beer can hold its own against most triples and is a good example of the style. The alcohol does take over everything else if you let it, but small sips bring out hidden flavours and I thoughly enjoyed the beer.
