Pours amber with medium head. Malty aroma. Not very exciting flavour - it all falls a bit flat. Uninspired.

Net als zijn blonde broertje een bier met een volle, uitgesproken smaak. Ze zijn beide echte aanraders

The dark counterpart of the classic blonde triple Augustijn, since 2009. Off-white foam that sticks firmly to the grass, dark mahogany brown colour, misty. Typical Belgian dubbel aroma: candi sugar, dark chocolate, walnuts, pear, banana, elderberry syrup. Taste begins a but neutral with some iron, smooth, after which dark fruits and caramelly and nutty malts appear, in a soft and somewhat cliché way; finish has a bit toasted bitterness as well as grassy hops, but ends rather short. Typical Van Steenberge ale: okay and enjoyable, but cliché and far from exciting.

Draught as Cambrivinus Bruin @ Bierbrasserie Cambrinus, Brugge. Pours hazy very dark brown witg small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Sweetish flavour of fruit and caramel malt, with subtle bitter, hoppy touches. Faint vinous hints. Rough and sweetish afteraste. Warming alcohol presence. A decent, regular Belgian Dubbel.
