Bottle, 8%. Weak brown sugar aroma. Almost clear dark brown colour. Small stable lacy off-white head. The flavour is roasted and vinous, OK paper note, a little earth. OK warming alcohol in the finish.

(Bottle, Cambrinus, Brugge, 23 Oct 2014) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, dark fruit and dark bread. Malty, slightly roasted taste with dark fruit, caramel, roasted nuts, a touch of chocolate and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with balanced sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

A dark reddish brown coloured beer with a frothy off white head. A potent alcohol aroma, with a rich fruity and malty aroma. Medium mouthfeel. A slightly sweet, malt flavour to start, then a sharp sourness brings a tart fruitiness forward, leaving a mouth-puckering flavour that lasts well into the finish.

Bottle. Typical double pour. Aroma is boozy (!), spirit (vodka, whiskey). Faint hint of burnt grains, chocolate and prunes. Not really my thing. Taste is completely different though. Nice and mellow double: coffee, mocha, chocolate, creamy. Little sour, some hints of burnt grains. Coffee candy aftertaste.

Pours dark & fizzy with a thin slice of foam above the darkness. First few sips are pure grape soda pop madness. Give the beer a few minutes to settle (& read some of the reviews below for a confused laugh) & retry to find the grape soda essence has settled into surgery raisins, cinnamon toast & a crisp finish. Still a little too sugary than it could be but pretty fine to sip on Monday after work.

Brown with medium yellow creamy head. A bit watery sweet taste with some sourness and remarkable roasted caramel followed by quite strong remaining bitterness.
