Reddish brown, dense offwhite head, lots of carbonaization. Aroma has caramel, chocolate, nutmeg and mocca, a bit musty. Fizzling in mouth, sweetish in the beginning, bur furtheron more bitterness, with espresso, chocolate and mocca. Long finish, not too sweet.

Capped 750 from Wine and Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dark ruddy brown with a beige head. Aroma is mixed berry and wood. Sort of fruits de bois. Med body. Lots of fruit sort of cola, astringent wood - hints of of metal - in the finish.

Bottle. Pours dark amber clear with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly with no lacing. Aroma is heavy with roasted malt, caramel and Belgian yeast. Taste is medium sweet, roasted caramel malts, Belgian yeast and alcohol notes. Medium carbonation, creamy in the mouth.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours reddish brown with a modest beige head and a sweet toffee aroma. There is a dark malt flavor with some candi sugar and dark fruit, with a slightly metallic finish.

330mL bottle. Aroma is divine, appearance is beautiful, medium head that disappears. Taste is great, they lose 1 point for palate, though. The quintessential dubbel, perfect balance for the style. This beer is AWESOME!

Appearance dark amber with some red light. Large frothy top. Sparse lace. 3+
Flavor and Palate : thin sharp front. Sugary with fuller mid. Traditional Belgian strong ale feel. Semi dry alcohol hints. Mid class.

Poured from a bottle into a trappist glass, looks just beautiful with a dark brown color and nice head, aroma is mild yeast, little fruit and caramel, medium carbonation, taste is sweet, carmel, malt and raisin, alcohol is a mild footnote...

Pours a slightly translucent brown with almost no head. Slightly musty nose with notes of rasins. Subtle carbonation with a strong malt presence. Sweet, but not overly so. Not overpowering for a belgian.

The aroma is faint of raisins and the body is a nice cloudy desk brown but very thin head. The taste is nutty and somewhat dry. Not too bad.
