Full body - staying head - amber color with a spicy, malty palate that finishes very fruity with complex hoppy undertones.

2015 update: according to the brewer’s website, this is the same beer as St. Stefanus Grand Cru.

It pours deep golden clear with a long lasting white head. The aroma contains herbs, spices, apple, citrus and some yeastiness. The taste is medium sweet, medium bitter and light sour. Finish is long, dry and spicy. Full bodied and fizzy on the tongue. 9% alcohol is not noticeable. A decent beer, but it misses something that its little brother does have.

Thanks for sharing this one, Mason. I actually took a picture after I poured it into a tulip glass. Aroma was apples and flavor was in line with the smell. Carbonation is very high so it’s a sipper. Vintage 2013.

33 cl bottle from a random corner store in Zagreb, served in a tulip. Light golden/yellow, clear, with a large, white, stable, good lacing head. Aroma is quite malty, spicy, light citric, alcoholic, mild yeasty. Medium body, soft to medium carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, balanced, quite alcoholic, texture is watery to oily.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Clear golden with a white head. Fruity yeasty aroma. Sweet taste and lively carbonation. Typical strong blonde Belgian beer; decent but utterly boring.

Bottle. Pours gold with a rocky white head that collapses quickly. Lemon and spice aroma. Taste of light malt, is lemon on toast a thing?, there’s some quite nice Belgian yeastiness but hidden in the background. Alcohol and spice to finish. Gets a touch lemon washing up liquid in the end.

Bottle 75cl, a cloudy copper bees with huge head but poor retention. Nose is on quince, orange and belgian yeast. Aroma is on mandarin, yeast, quince, diacetyl, vegetable, ripped apples, less complex body for the alcohol level, sugar, candy touch, metallic. It’s messy, I’m not convinced at all.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is (deep) golden colored and has a large and long staying white head. The aroma is fruity with citrus notes and spicy with coriander notes. A hint of alcohol is noticable. The taste is full bodied with fruit and malt notes. A little alcohol is noticable but not disturbing. The finish is dry and with a spicy bitterness.

Kolor: z?oty z pomara?czowymi refleksami, lekko przymglony. Piana bia?a, zbudowana z drobnych p?cherzyków, w konsystencji kremowa, sporych rozmiarów, niestety niezbyt d?ugo pozostaje na powierzchni piwa. Aromat: dro?d?owy, winny, delikatnie kwiatowy, nieco kwaskowy. Goryczki w?a?ciwie brak, wysycenie wysokie charakterystyczne dla win musujacych. Alkohol cho? mi?o rozgrzewa prze?yk, jest idealnie schowany.
