Bit sour on the nose, spicy, alcohol. Alcohol dominates the taste as well, also some malt undertones, apples, spices. I didn’t really enjoy it.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2015 Strong, ’edelbier’ version of Augustijn Blond, with very thick and foamy, rocky, sticky, off-white head and deep orangey blonde colour, hazy with a big mass of sparkles pushing through, supporting the head. Aroma of apple peel, bitter honey, quite a lot of iron, old cake, unripe peach, dough, hint of pineapple; taste is fruity, estery, bit yeasty, pineapple, peach and apple returning, honeyish and even slightly sugary sweetishness in the background, strong carbonation with sourish effect, smooth bready malt sweetishness, bit grainy, evolving into a finish which primarily consists of lingering malt sweetness, tingling carbonation, grassy hop bitterishness and the unavoidable ’jenever’-like booziness. Clearly an attempt at rivalling Duvel - need I say more?

Golden color with a big white head. Aroma is apples, spices and yeast. Taste is way to bitter and too much yeast. Medium carbonation.

Bonne surprise.

Puts an average white frothy head that completely diminished. Body is clear yellow and sparkling. Aroma contains light malts (are), light hops (flowers, perfume, pine, lemon), light yeasts and grape, apple, cherry, cassis and some vanilla. Flavor is light acidic, then light acidic and light sweet, followed by sweet and finishing in light bitter. Body is light to medium with watery texture and soft carbonation. I've had better.

0.33L bottle. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aromas are rich malt, butterscotch / butter. Flavor is fairly sweet, with bready malt and bubblegum. Mild, herby hops to balance it, but mostly rich malt. Full body with a sticky mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, tasty enough, decent malt character, but fairly unidimensional.
