3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light amber colour with a very nice yellow head. Great fruity (citrus) aroma. Flavour is fruity and spicy with a (highly) hoppy bitter finish. Not bad at all, but perhaps not perfectly balanced.

Very blond with a big head. Weak aroma, some citrus. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Difficult beer to define. Well balanced.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice beer, but not as good as Piraat or Gulden Draak... Much the same profile, but a little lacking in comparison. Not generally available in NJ.

Like the ordinary triple, pissy Belgian Strong Ale. Grrrr.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cloudy and very light colour with white head. Too alcoholic, too carbonated and too yeasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very faint hazy gold with huge fluffy lasting white head depositing hints of lace. Initial burst of fresh fruit on pouring followed by faint bitter n’ sappy hops, light spices and sour dough yeast aromas. The 9% is well covered in both the aroma and the flavour. Medium-large body mostly bitter and some faint spices to start followed by a maltier middle and somewhat repetitive finish. Pleasant but not all that complex or exciting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very similar to the regular « Augustijn » but with more alcohol and yeast presence…Drunken bees on bitter flowers…Falling onto a heavy malt bed…

slightly cloudy, light golden color. Yeasty aroma, some fruitiness and faint spiciness. This beer was better with the yeast. First of all it forced the overwhelming carbonation to relax and added to the overall fruitiness of the beer. Much too carbonated and fairly bland if you ask me.
