Full body - staying head - amber color with a spicy, malty palate that finishes very fruity with complex hoppy undertones.

An excellent strong ale. Deep golden hues with a generous head. Had it in the breweries bar so very well preserved, perfectly aged. Aroma of Apricots and pears, spice, a hint of herbs, the flavor is very nicely balanced between fruit ester and spice finishing clean and dry. Pairs well with WestV or any Abbey cheese. The marketing director said requests to have it placed below sea level when exporting on not always heeded and thus it could explain some low ratings for this fantastic beer as it’s a living product best drank near the source. It will be sold as St. Stefanus grand cru in the US due to battles with Augustiner in Munich.

Pas aussi amère que ce à quoi je m’attendais...ou espérais...elle reste assez équilibrée et bonne. Bouteille achetée chez un caviste, Nogent-sur-marne, France, bue le 19/01/2014.

33cl bottle Appearance: A quite clear golden colour with steady 2 fingers sized head Arroma: Belgian yeast and straw. Taste: caramel, Belgian yeast ,bread, Apricot and floral hints, quite estery but dull, no real finish except for a slight increase by the alcohol which shows up faintly. medium body, average carbonation. A bit blend Belgian strong ale, their are better one out there.

Amber colored to straw yellow with thick white foam. Smells like a strongly alcoholic tripel - wine graps and sauerkraut are immediate associations I get. The mouth feel is temperamental and fizzy, and the taste contains rock candy, grapes, apple cider vinegar and alcohol. Less complicated than I prefer my tripels to be - too much alcohol in the taste.

For whichever reason, there just isn’t much to smell here. The color is like that of an American malt liquor existing for no other reason than for rapid intoxication at neglidgable cost. I guess it smells like a lightweight househould oil if you strain your nostrils hard enough (think 10wt.) I was expecting something dark, but instead got this oily, filtered biscuity yeast beast, bright as the sun. At least I like the smell of a good working garage shop or I would have to fail this beer entirely.

Overall yeasty and malty , some melted butter , smooth and slick . Some hop dryness and bitterness at the finish. Not much of a head a pale gold body, but lots of lacing .

Bouteille de 33cl. Couleur or pale, mousse correcte de tenue moyenne. Un houblon assez présent, des épices, une note de frangipane. Rien de stupéfiant mais l’ ensemble est bien équilibré, l’ alcool supporte bien le tout.

The smell is sweet of caramel with notes of the bitterness from a good quality champagne. Pours hazy yellow with a thick white head. Tastes sweet of caramel, dates, nuts and raisin. The bitter finish got tones of lemon. The mouth feel is rather thick but also very carbonated and crisp.
