On tap, from old notes. Bright golden yellow with dense white foam, candy like sweetness with undertones of alcohol, spice and bitterness.

Fine tasting wheat beer, certainly full-bodied, but maybe a little too much so.

Poured into a trappist glass, the beer looks beautiful with a nice thick white head which stays all the way through, aroma is yeast and a little citrus, taste is tangy, sweet, malt, carbonation is high and sharp, you feel the warmth of the alcohol and mild bitter aftertaste
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 schoolofchuck (12) - Kansas, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Purchased as a variety of 6-pack bottles. Color is a cloudy golden one, with a massive white head. Taste is floral and citrus-y, perhaps a medley of lemon, apple and clementine, with a hint of sourness and just a flutter of something that leaves me thinking of pine needles. The high alcohol content gives it a slightly boozy appeal. I use boozy to describe the pleasant nature of alcohol, like the warming sensation on your throat, and the bite that makes a real beer. I reserve alcohol taste is to describe the unpleasant and chemical nature of a high alcohol content. There is not much in the way of aroma(but my nose has been runny). Overall a good brew, but it is a little pricey to enjoy often.

Bottle at home, from my Maudite glass, obtained in a trade with Duffman. Thanks Tony! Pours clear honey-gold, 1-finger thick white head, very spotty lacing. Nose is pineapple, apple cider, light vinegar, some leather, very green apple-ish. Flavours are moderately spicy, nice spun sugar/honey note, that fades to more green apple and candy. Unremarkable.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bullit (3284) - Burgos, SPAIN - APR 16, 2012
Bottle from gift package, Nijkerk. Dark copper colour, large frothy off-white head. Nose is malty, fruity and yeasty, a bit peppery. Flavour is malty, yeasty, alcoholic, fairly sweet. Medium carbonation. A bit harsh. Fairly bitter finish.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear golden/light copper colour with nearly white head that sticks around and leaves a good web of lacing. There’s a pretty heavy phenolic aroma on top that slowly disappears with vigorous swirling, but there’s still a musty feel that makes me think of good red wine for some reason (not overly pleasant in my beer, though). That classic Belgian sweetness is buried underneath but there’s no discernible fruit. Disappointing. A little better on the palate but there’s a wateryness there. Some lively fruit and a nice spicy edge. Finishes with a little bittersweet note.

Golden hazy straw colour with a fulsome white head that leaves good lacing around the edge of the glass. While the blond smelled of basement and conventional Belgian yeast aromas, this one differs slightly in that the citrus isn’t as overt with more of a nod to golden malt aromas. Not an enormous bouquet. A fully mouthfeel and a flavour like sweetish banana and fruit candy. Then there’s a tanginess that comes through and sits, staying put on the tongue. It’s alright, but not really a beer I can write a rave review for as it is a little sweet for my liking.

Bottle.
Dull golden pour with very little head. Lacking in both aroma and flavor - overly sweet grains and lots of alcohol burn. Toasted malt and banana.

Not really my cup of tea. The typical metallic taste of the Augustijn beers. Light sour. The taste of alcohol isn’t in balance with the other aroma’s
