Naka (520), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 1, 2009 On tap at Sharp Edge. Pours a clear golden straw color with a 1 1/2 finger fluffy white head. The aroma was apples, clove, citrus, and a little artificial banana. The flavor was very sweet with the same banana-apple spice blended with a light bitter edge. The body was very rich. Left a fruity bittersweet finish. Good, but not great. yngwie (4466), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 27, 2009 Bottle, 33cl, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It serves a semi-clear golden body under a dense, white head. Banana, some lemon and spices blend with white sugar and pale malts in the aroma. The flavor is sweet and fruity, pleasantly spiced, with banana, pale malts and a decent hoppyness. A bit on the warm side palate-wise, full-bodied and effervescent. The finish has a little doughy touch as well as some hoppy bitterness. Sure, a nice one, but lacks quite a bit to compete with the best tripels. (090616) BuckeyeBoy (1451), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 21, 2009 Little stub bottle Pours out a gold topped with a small white sand head. Aroma of some pit fruit a nice little spice. Tast more of the light spice some fruit and a little bitter on the end. Wim (1121), Turnhout, Belgium Jun 19, 2009 gold blond coloured body with a white head a spicy hoppy aroma a spicy hoppy fruity herby taste with a hoppy bitter finish Gr0ve (1295), Oslo, Norway Jun 19, 2009 330 ml bottle. Golden and slightly hazy. Medium-sized white fine-laced head. Classical fruity and gentle Belgian yeast character. Hints of apple and apricot. Delicious fruitiness combined with nice soft spicy flavours. Fairly high carbonation level, but not at all fizzy. Not a particularly complex beer, but it is very drinkable. I wish that it’d be more accessable. This is an excellent introduction to the Belgian beer universe. WVHouseofBeer (246), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Jun 16, 2009 Updated: Jun 19, 2009Pours a deep golden color with a small white head that left little lacing. Spicy aroma and citrusy flavor, but not as strong as Tripels should be. Eh not a beer that I will be buying again. Yves (773), Beerse, Belgium Jun 14, 2009 Clear goldblond coloured beer with small white head. Herby spicy aroma mixed with some hops. Full sparkling palate. Finish is bitter hoppy ending more and more bitter. Nice one. Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 12, 2009 "Brew looks dirty yellow with orange hints a very tall white rocky cap with long lasting retention and leaves behind spotty lacing. Sour yeast/wheat aroma with hints of spice. Aroma is standard and uninteresting. Taste is bold and full flavoured with a big heavy well carbonated body. Malts are heavy and made up of dark wheat flavours. Alcohol and a warm spice shows up in the finish. Beer is clean tasting and enjoyable."
