mgermani (646), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 29, 2007 Pours a hazy pear-brown with a thin creamy head with some lace. Wonderful sweet spicy and fruity aroma, strong and present. Instant hoppy taste, mellows to malt and spice - coriander - and notes of peach and green grape, ending with a dry finish. Slightly overcarbonated, creamy body. Satisfying Tripel, fruity and well-balanced hopping, I like.
lawbagada (5), , Maryland, USA does not count Nov 29, 2008 This is my favorite beer, hands down. Lots of spice and body to this abbey tripel. Enough alcohol to keep things interesting, but not overpowering. Nice thick creamy bitter head on this beer that stays with you until the beer is gone. If you like Piraat or Duvel, this beer is comparative. Surprised that this beer isn’t rated a bit higher. Imperial-John (113), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Nov 29, 2008 Pale gold with bubbles, white head that disappears quickly. Yeast aroma. Very bubbly, sweet yeast taste, similiar to Duvel. malrubius (511), USA Nov 21, 2008 11.2 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Hazy orange with lasting ring head. Bready spicy ripe peach orange aroma. Caramel orange sweet fruitiness and spiciness. Medium body and carbo. Spicy and complex, pretty good flavor. terrybail (181), , Ontario, Canada Nov 15, 2008 330ml bottle from the LCBO as part of a Belgian Ale Sampler pack
The aroma is of honey and spicy
Pours a light golden amber with very little head and slight lacing
The taste is a little thin but this is very drinkable would be great on a hot summer day
Very good
EHopper (171), Minnesota, USA Oct 27, 2008 Bought as part of a variety pack. Wonderful whipped egg white foam head that lasts. Fainter, but definite aroma of a hog barn - decomposing hay, grain, other more sour notes - and green fruit (actually quite pleasant). Flavor a nice match. I actually can’t pull out too many particular flavors, just a nice beer taste.
