kiefdog (269), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 30, 2008 33cl bottle from ABC Liquors (North Tampa, FL). Pours a cloudy golden with a thick, frothy white head that heavily laces the glass. Aroma: Slightly sweet, honey, complex spices, yeast. Flavor: Slight notes of ripe fruit, slight bitterness of the hops, watery, slightly tart and bitter finish. Very carbonated -- maybe too much to the point where it slightly burns the tongue on initial taste. Interesting tripel.
soyorganic (84), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle: Pours cloudy copper/gold with a massive head with a life of its own. Banana and clove aroma. Initial taste is smooth, heavily carbonated with yeast and banana notes. Then the taste becomes dry followed by a savory semi-sweet aftertaste. The taste of the beer is subtly complex. DYCSoccer17 (1982), Davis, California, USA Jul 3, 2008 12 ounce bottle from a mixed 6 pack purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Spicy, banana-clove like estery yeast aroma. Some light sweetness also lingers in the nose. Pretty quaffable. Mildly hazy honey-golden body with a massive massive, white head that actually dissipated pretty quickly. A pretty spicy hop start that becomes a bit earthy in the middle. More bitter spiciness before a pretty dry finish that is moderate in length. Some banana esters make a presence as well. Pretty light and pretty dry. A bit different. cellar (125), Dublin, Ireland Jul 1, 2008
thx 4 great tasting Kimjohansen, formely known as Beljohansen :-) amber beer, no head, notes of yeast, malt, fruit. sweet and sour taste, short aftertaste airforce1 (61), Atascosa, Texas, USA Jun 22, 2008 This beer is OK, but seems to be a bot watery for a triple. Slight sweetness, hint of Orange and grapefruit. BritAlesRule (54), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 21, 2008 A nice hazy gold color and lasting head that laces nicely, if that’s your thing. Notes of sharp spicy fruit on the nose. Banana and light fruits dominate on first sip with a delightfully fruity linger on the tongue. A medium-light yeasty body that’s not too bready and actually refreshing. I sense some woodyness too. 8% alcohol was completely hidden. Not the most complex, but would buy again.
