4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle at The Priory Arms, Stockwell. Wow, what a beer. Pours a reddish dark amber with an off white head. The aroma is complex and beguiling - hints of fruit cake, smoke, toffee pudding and milk. The taste brings to mind raisins, cream, brandy butter and rich fruit cake, underpinned by a rich roasted malt. The palate is full and it has a good long lasting finish. A very good dunkel, it should be savoured as there is something new to discover eadh time you sip it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, filtered, 500ml. Chestnut colour with off white head. Quite a vinous, winey aroma, leading to a thick heavyish flavour of fruit and rich malt. The roasting is quite dark giving a slight tartness to the beer. It finishes quite dry, which is a little surprising. Good ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber colored, medium sized lasting light brown head. Aroma has strong bread and burned sugar, mild chocolate and nuts also there, still some hops come up too. Rich aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is more nutty with also some roastiness and balancing hops, aftertaste lasts with roastiness and dry touch. Good example of dunkel.
