Aroma: Spicy hops, pilsen malt, corn, bread, green apple, honey, light dms. Appearance: Color is light golden, head is quite dense and high, white, unfortunately dissappears. Taste: balance of spicy hops and malt, some dms, some esters and strong mineral taste, grain, bitterness low. Palate: Carbonation is medium, body is medium-low, finish is sweet and mineral.

500ml bottle. Pale golden colour, head dissipates quickly. Aroma is cereal, grassy. Taste is clean, lemony, light sweet and light bitter. No off notes, decent body.

hauxe (331) - Butzbach, GERMANY - MAR 9, 2016
Pours pale gold with a creamy white head that rapidly collapses in on itself. The aroma is lightly malty and rather herbal. The taste itself has a mild character, with an uneven light malt sweetness and a rather stale, grainy bitterness. A bit of raw alcohol reveals it in the finish which has is unnecessary and disappointing given the relatively low 5.5 abv. Surprisingly robust, almost full bodied, and an undertone of low alcoholic warmth. Tolerable, but disappointing.

Bottle swig courtesy of Christian, vielen dank! Missed the appearance, but I assume it had one. Aroma of hay and straw. Taste has white pepper and lemony lager.

Chiarissima, schiuma poco persistente. Odore di cereali, erba. Sapore maltato, amaro delicato finale. Dissetante. Non il mio genere preferito.

On draught. Not as good as their helles for me. Just a little too sweet and there is a kind of herbal quality to the taste I’m not too sure about.

Bottle from Willow’s Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is mild honey, some mildewy sweet corn, stale herbal things. Taste is an old lozenge that’s lost its healing qualities. Feeling worse as a result.

Aroma: hops, a little honey. Appearance: light yellow, clear, head medium-sized, disappears completely within seconds. Taste: sweet, just a bit bitter. Palate: body medium; carbonation below average; finish sweet, a little sticky. Overall: not bad but less than good. The sweetness is of a pleasant kind but there’s too much of it, in the aroma and in the taste, and not enough bitterness to balance it.
