A nice clean beer. Pours yellow with a light lace around the glass. Aroma is light European hoppiness. Taste is clean, some slight hoppiness and malt. Good carbonation. Nice mouth feel. Aftertaste is pleasant as well!

Bottle. Golden color and quite thick white head. Aroma has some sweet malt and hops. Taste is lightly hopped, malty and a bit sweet too.

A very good beer from the ancient Augustiner brewery, whose beers are all very distinctive: this one is in the local Münich tradition, but has tons more character than the usual offerings there. Full-bodied, somewhat malty perhaps, lightly (very lightly) hopped, but altogethere an exquisite beer. The label, with a brewstaff and hops, is in sparkling gold. It would be nicer without the black background with all the supposedly legally required info. Worth seeking this out.

Bottle. Pours clear golden medium white head. Aroma of grass, hay, bread. Light sweet taste. Medium-light body, lively carbonation, dry finish. Just ok overall.

Bottle at Caffé Leone, Kvatri?, Zagreb. Pours clear light golden yellow with firm white head. Grainy aroma, a light hoppy bitter kick at the beginning turns into grain metallic aroma. Carbonation dominates the mouthfeel above the rather slim aroma and almost no taste. Wouldn’t call it watery, but light bodied. Terribly overpriced, it’s worthless to try this.

50cl bottle. Clear golden colour with a nice white head with low retention. Malts and floral hops in the aroma. Average carbonation and light body. Taste is more sweet than bitter. Overall, a nice drinkable beer but not remarkable.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 1D). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L2013151K. AROMA: grainy sweet aroma with very faint hop notes. some DMS is present. no esters or diacetyl. APPEARANCE: medium yellow color and translucent. thin moussy white head with low retention. TASTE: sweet and clean malt flavour that lingers into the aftertaste. very low bitterness. PALATE: thin body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a watered down helles that lacks the bitterness to balance a little the sweet malt profile.

"One of the top 5 in style I’ve had. Very pleasant and flavorful malty backbone. Sweet, but not cloying or plastic tasting. The aroma is malty as well, with just a hint of floral hops. Nicely done, and was even enjoyed after some big boys - which made the fact it was enjoyed that much more impressive."

Bought and tasted in Munich (ie, fresh) Color and appearance: light gold, a bit darker than a Helles with good carbonation and with a two-finger head when poured in a narrow 250cc tulip. Smell: More like a good pilsner than like a helles. Taste: very easy to drink, with enough hop and Munich malt flavors not to feel too watery, good light-hop aftertaste. This is a great beer for biergarten drinking, but it does not look like a beer that would travel well. Cheers!

Clear golden color, average sized white head. Medium body, average carbonation. Aroma of apple, vinegar, wine, caramel. Medium sweet taste, very light bitterness. Good helles.

Bottle. Light golden colour, clear. Thin white head, disappearing quickly to nothing. Medium carbonation. Aroma of hops and malt, quite bland. Taste is better, good balance of sweet and bitter, but fades fast. Overall a quite refreshing and easy to drink beer, but distinctly average on the taste and aroma fronts.
