3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 billdrinksbeer (18) - USA - NOV 1, 2009
Bottle from Rodman’s. Pretty sure this is what I had, the bottle I had was Augustiner-Brau Mundieu Edelstoff. Pours a nice yellow with a minimal head. Little aroma, some grain. Very carbonated. Some malt and grain on the back palette. Very clean flavor that is pretty consistent from front to back. Though this isn’t my favorite style, I’d have a few more of these if I was in the right mood.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 foxo82 (159) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2012
On tap at Hirschgarten, Munich. Typical helles - aroma and taste both weak but pleasant. Looks good with the usual large head of foam. Metallic, slightly malty, bitter, ridiculously drinkable, extremely refreshing. Good lager here.
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 gedthemanc (16) - ebbw vale, WALES - APR 28, 2012
along with the helles, the best beers in the world
you do need to drink the draft, in munich though
the bottled version is ok but bottled beers are never as good
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2012
The regular brown 500ml bottle, best before 03/2010, drank and reviewed 01/2010. Poured three times into a Veltins Pilsner stemmed tulip.
Pale gold, clear, bright and clean. On top sat a snow white crown of foam.
Cereal, grassy aroma, a litle hint of hops and yeast if you sniff and believe.
No great flavour, typical of the style, it is refreshing and lightwieght in the mouthfeel. It does however have an after kick, the alcohol comes in towards the end and leaves a pleasant malty (for a Helles) reminder that you’ve had a beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beerbarella (41) - - APR 18, 2012
500 ml bottle. Hints of fruitiness, mild. A beer from Munich and Bavarian beers rarely disappoint. Very nice.

A benchmark for the style, great drinkability, you never get tired of it. Aroma is bread, hay, floral and doughy; taste is medium sweetness, with a light bitterness.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 lusikka (2530) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 17, 2012
500 ml bottle.
Pours a yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of grass, some citrusy notes and malts. Flavour of grass, biscuity malts, grains and honey-like, mellow sweetness. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Alcohol feels a bit in the end. Nice one.
