Bottle 0.5L. Clear, golden body with an average, frothy, white head, mostly diminishingl with some lacing though. Moderate malty (grains) and very light hoppy (flowers) aroma. Moderate-to-heavy sweet flavour with light bitter character that becomes more evident in the finish. Medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation.

Geschmack malzig, kaum bitter. Alkohol versteckt sich. Super geil.

On tap at Augustiner Bräustuben. Maybe the worst augustiner that I ever had.

Bottle by 09.12., have been waiting to get my hands on one of these for several years. Nose lightly sweet with faint grass and a little must. Dull, clear golden body with a soapy white head. Taste is sweet, some citrus and vanilla under booze with fresh and firm but faint hops on the back end. Light body with faint honey, but again, the primary character here is booze. Truth be told, there’s not a lot to distinguish this one from, say, Edelstoff. A big disappointment.

500ml brown bottle, taken at The Cask Pub and Kitchen, London Oct 2011. This light golden coloured beer could have been a regular Pils/Helles; at first it looked and had the smells you’d expect from a Munich breweries bier. However the smell began to become more pronounced, caramel and toffee esters began to merge with the usual grainy hop aromas normally found in Munich light coloured biers. Sweetish and very easy to drink, the hops although playing second fiddle to the malts do assert themselves at times and make this an interesting and refreshing drink. The alcohol isn’t completely hidden, not quiet enough depth of flavours to blank it out, it doesn’t sit in your face, but you can certainly feel it below the surface.
