UPDATED: OCT 4, 2013 I love this beer. I drank it on a vaction to Munich in their beer hall. I love the malty flavor of German lagers and this one is just fantastic. My favorite German beer. High rating includes the whole expierence. All beer lovers should visit a german beer hall. So much fun.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle backstage at the Frierwerk, Munich many times. Simple, uncomplicated Bavarian lager, soft malts but essentially rather dull. Always felt a bit groggy after a few of these & wake up with a furry tongue.

0,5l bottle. Pale yellow color. Aroma is malt and grainy. Taste is similar to the aroma. It’s very nice and interesting beer, very drinkable. I recommend it.

Thanks to dandman629 for bringing this back from Germany. Pale straw in color. Slight spicy sweet grain flavor finished by a lager crispness. Slight funky straw aroma. Overall, a drinkable brew thats not too complex.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
I live in Munich for 35 years and this is my favorite choice. It dominates parties, stag nights, summer fests, grill fests. Paradox thing is that Augustiner does not make any commercials at all. Taste is Medium-malty. It is in general sold as 0,5 liter in restaurants and pubs. Households buy it in 0,5 liter single bottles or crates with 20 bottles. Pubs do serve it in general from an aluminium keg. At special occacions they do have it from a wooden barrel.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours pale yellow with a short tight white head. Typical lager aromas - corn and cooked green vegetables - but they soon go. What’s left after that is one of the best, most refreshing, and well-balanced lagers out there. After finishing one, you could easily drink more.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear pale yellow with small white foam head. Aroma is not too strong, typical German beer. So is taste, a good German beer. Short lastinjg aftertaste. (Velp 201306)

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
50cl bottle from everywhere in Munich. Pours a clear, pale yellow colored body with an inch thick, foamy and frothy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is DMS and some sulfur with a grainy, very lightly sweetened malt backing and a touch of grass. Flavor is similar. Sulfur, DMS, and a grainy, lightly sweetened malt backing. Touches of hay and fruits before this finishes somewhat dry and very lightly bitter. Short aftertaste following a thin body and a fizzy carbonation. Overall, a beer sold all over Bavaria that leaves me questioning why. It’s not terrible, but it is certainly not good.

Bottles and tap all over Munish. A high standard lager thats quality is not diminshed by it’s ubiquity.

Had a million of these in bottles in Munchen. Golden with a white head. Floral nose with a sturdy German lager body. Good for long term mass consumption. A bit of sweet, maty tang comes through after a while. Nice, high grade lager.
