Jukkabro (2463), Tampere, Finland Jul 20, 2007 (BBE6/07) Deep dark amber colored, little vanishing light brown head. Surprisingly lively carbonation. Rich aroma with nuts, chocolate, caramel, raisins, brown sugar, mild alcohol, some bready touch, MAN I could smell this forever! Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also rich with sweet raisins and nutty caramel, also this bready-rye touch here. Mild alcohol only in aftertaste, sweet but still biting caramelly and hopped aftertaste lasts. Maybe the best doppelbock ever for me!

Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. alobar (676), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 31, 2008 Brown ruby color with minimal off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, molasses and some fruit. Caramel flavor with hintsof fruit, molasses, and malts. theisti (1166), Leawood, Kansas, USA Sep 29, 2008 12 fl oz bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, Nebraska. Pour is hazed brown ruby copper with a 1 1/2 tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel, some toasted bread, in the back earthy hay and chemical sharpness. Taste is the dirty, toasted caramel sweetness. Some black cherry fruit sweetness is evident as well. The maltiness is husky and present, though has an edge to it that is not entirely pleasant. Palate is medium, mouth coating with a long lingering cloying sweet toastiness.
